An electrically qualified person can install the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 in a home connection box in just a few minutes. In our case, the SMA Energy Meter was replaced by the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 in less than 15 minutes.

1. After the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 has been successfully installed and connected to the router using a LAN cable (implemented with devolo dLAN), open the PV System Setup Assistant on the Sunny Portal homepage.

2. In the first of eight steps, you’ll be asked to enter your Sunny Portal login details (installation or administrator rights are required).

3. Second, select the system in which the new Sunny Home Manager 2.0 will replace the Sunny Home Manager BT. To do this, press the button with the opposite-facing arrows.

4. Third, you need to enter the separately enclosed serial number (PIC) and registration ID (RID) to identify the new Sunny Home Manager 2.0. After entering the PIC and RID, press “Identify.”

5. The Sunny Home Manager 2.0 will now appear as a symbol. Because we are replacing the Sunny Home Manager, the Assistant will automatically go to step seven when you press “Continue.”

Step seven will display a summary of the device replacement. Click “Finish” and in step eight, the Sunny Home Manager BT will be replaced by the new Sunny Home Manager 2.0.

6. All data from the old system will now be uploaded to the new.

Clicking “To system” will take you directly to your system, where you can edit your settings as normal.

Is there an updated version of this article, the PV System Setup Assistant user interface seems to have changed a bit since the article, first choice is now to select what device is used to communicate with sunny portal, should that be the new 2.0 or the current 1.0 homemanager?

Thanks for the update, followup question, which portal version is recommended to perform the migration, classic or EnnexOS one. Are the differences between the two in the migration steps as described above?

In my case it did not work. Replacing Energy meter with HM2 I got this error message:
    The selected device is a
    Sunny Home Manager 2.0
    . You can only add
    SMA Webconnect
    devices to the PV system

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks,

    Hi,
I am wondering if you can connect the HM2 to a SB5.0 with a speedwire cable, and then use the SB5.0 WiFi to connect the LAN. Ultimately connecting both devices to the Sunny Portal.

    Hi,

I have a few questions refering to SMA energy meter and SMA home manager:

    1) My goal is :
I do NOT want to feed power back to the grid.
    2) i have 2x SMA 4kw Grid Tie inverters and a 2.2kw SMA Sunny Island

    3) i feel a bit confused between the old and the new energy meter and home managers

    4) What SMA energy meter is sufficient to achieve my goal?

    5) Do i understand correct that the SMA Home Manager 2.0 is a combination of the energy meter and home manager?

    Please advise
    Chris

      Hello Chris,
because this is an individual issue that is clarified best in a personal dialog, please contact our service team. They will be glad to assist you further.
To answer your last question 5): Yes, the Sunny Home Manager 2.0 combines the functions of the Sunny Home Manager Bluetooth and the SMA Energy Meter in a single device. This makes intelligent energy management even easier and more cost-effective.
      Kind regards, Jennifer

Hi, I’m planning to buy a 5 kW sunny-boy inverter. Don’t know yet whether the “TL series or the 5.0 Power & Solution” or What communication facility comes with in the unit?
Since there are few comm facilities option offered. I have a GSM communication line on the site. I want to have on-line monitoring and also read the recorded data in the unit. What the SMA portal provide for the 5KW user? thanks.
    Rgds,
    Berdy.

      Hello Berdy,
On-line monitoring is not possible with the Sunny Home Manager because you can not look at it. In this case you need a Cluster Controler.
However, you can see your data in the Sunny Portal time-delayed and they are also recorded there. For the users of a plant with 5 kWp it is sufficient.
      Kind regards, Carolin

      Hello Thomas,
In general, there is no reason to upgrade your running system, if you don`t require any new functions. The SMA Energy Meter is a measurement solution for intelligent energy management which communicates all data on grid feed-in and purchased electricity. The Sunny Home Manager is a control device monitoring all energy flows in the home, automatically identifying potential savings and facilitating efficient use of solar energy. The new Sunny Home Manager 2.0 combines the intelligent energy management of Sunny Home Manager Bluetooth and the power measurement of the SMA Energy Meter in one device. New PV systems therefore require one less component and installation becomes easier and more cost-effective. The Sunny Home Manager Bluetooth will of course receive further updates in the course of product enhancement activities.
Please read this article to find out more about the new Sunny Home Manager 2.0.
      Kind regards, Carolin

Hi. just bought a energy Maneger 2.0. This is my first energy meter. I can’t get it to read my 10000TL-20 current power. I can se the exported or imported power, but no Self-consumption.

I have now my old page with generated power and my new page with the energy meter. I think this is wrong, shall I replace my 10000TL-20 with my energy meter?
